An incomplete education leaves us poorly prepared for the emotional acrobatics of life.
The majority of us are not broken or in need of repair. Perhaps an accurate perspective is that many of us suffer a deficit in understanding and self-knowledge or are unfamiliar with tools and techniques critical to maintaining psycho/emotional health and balance. Stress, anxiety and trauma are commonplace, yet the ability to reconcile distress is rare. My work centers around the development of these core skills:
- Emotional literacy - The ability to accurately interpret emotion.
- Emotional compression/decompression – The capacity to identify, utilize and reconcile emotional stress.
- Self-awareness – Familiarity with individual emotional/intellectual inclinations.
- Psycho/emotional balance – Emotion and intellect working as allies not adversaries.
